Anyone have any opinions on softening up the ride on my 94 cav wagon? Its too firm like a truck. I want to swap out the struts and or shocks but to what?

were they changed to aftermarket springs before you bought it? If so, go back to OEM

Before you start playing with shocks and springs, take a good look at the tires.
What size are they? Lower profile tires, (50 series, 40 series) produce sharper handling, but also a a stiffer ride than taller (70 or 75 series) tires.

Also, get a really good quality tire gauge and find out what tire pressure you have. Do not trust the typical gas station air compressor. They are inaccurate. Check the owners manual and fill the tires to the recommended pressure and no more, then see how the ride is. If it's too stiff, let us know the tire size and pressure and we can let you know if going any softer is a good idea.

Finally, some really cheapo tires sometimes do ride rougher, too.

the tires are Enduro's...185/75 -14's(I think they're from Pep Boys?) The suspension pieces look factory. The car has less than 65,000 miles.

The tire pressures are set for a little less than factory recomendations. 30 lbs instead of 35.

Thanks for the replies..........
