Clicking sound.

02 Marquis GS with ABS 43K easy miles. Our neighborhood has curbs and when I drive on the curbed road I hear a clicking sound coming from what I think is the left front tire. It's a distinct metallic click and is in direct relation to the rotation rpm's of the tires. I turn the wheel to go around a curve it still clicks or when I apply the brakes it continues to click. If I get on a road with no curb it's harder to hear but still there and I notice no change in steering or brakes.
It lived in a garage and the elderly lady that owned it took excellent care of it so it hasn't been abused. Had regular services done at Ford dealer so I could call them and ask if she had a brake job done. About 100 miles ago I had new tires put on and it drives and rides fine. Not often you find a 02 with 43K miles but every now and then we get lucky.

Hey Huney1. Does this vehicle have full hubcaps on it? If so, there is one of the caps loose. We hear that on a daily basis.
To change your e mail addy, go to UserCP and go to your profile. Then make the changes.

Yes Sir, full hub caps and when he was putting one on he had a hard time getting the screw/bolt (common driver fits it) to find the threads in the bracket that attaches via the lug nuts. I'll go down and take the ruber mallet and pound on the edges and see if that does it. Now that we moved the Ford dealer is 6 miles away and I called and asked if ever had a brake job done. Yup, did one 10-30-08 when it went through the shop. Heck, they even changed the tranny fluid with Mrecon V and flushed the cooling system. It qualified for the ESP service plan so it was checked head to toe and with 43K miles on it even thought it's an 02 it was still eligible for Ford ESP. Wanted $1200. for it and I declined. The svc writer said bring it by and they'll have the brake job double checked and if anything not right they'll fix it free. Can't do much better than that.
Apparently I had already changed my e mail address 'cause the notice came right on through to my new address. What with all the stress and hoopla of moving I just forgot. But then, first of Dec I'll be 68 so I reckon I have earned the right to forget now and then. :grinyes:
