why is everyone (Integra14, Shorty2859479375, you) starting up tiny little websites trying to sell stuff?? i mean, yours might not be so bad if you're selling models, but the other 2 are selling stuff that i can very easily make myself. if you're selling brand name models, wouldn't you need licencing from the company?

You need licensing!? WTF. I thought i could order 20 models a month from 1999co, or HLJ and sell them. Thats gay. I guess i wont start any store then. And i don't see why you say Integra14 and Shorty's stores are useless because you can make everything yourself. Ask them both, they are making money. Its there choice, and it seems to be working out well.

You do not need licensing. You technically need a business license to sell depening on how much income your making. But your NOT allowed to sell on Geocities. I'm suprised you could afford 20 models at 16 years old. I'll tell you this right now, do not expect to make tons of money. The only reason why I started selling on here was that people who didn't have credit cards, or if tons of places were sold out. I'll tell you right now I'm not even making a dollar a model after all the fees. I just don't want you to buy all these models and then wonder why you can't sell them and make money. As I was not doing it for the money and I knew what I was getting myself into. I even also have to walk(I do not have a car at college since it wasn't worth the money) close to 10 mins to get to the post office while being a full time college student. I do it for the enjoyment of the modelers and helping them out, and thats how I get my satisfaction.

Words of advice on the website... You can tell it was done by a "kid" no offense to you, but there is just too much going on, on the main page. I mean way too much. Those mouse followers get annoying. That bouncing thing should not keep on going back and fourth. I'm just doing this to help you out, please do not take this personal. Good luck with your site!

P.S. My site I just put that up since I'm redoing mine and most modelers are "older" and do not need all the "showy"flash designs.

true again... no offense, but I will never give my money to a website like that... if you want to run a website bussiness, you really should make something more clasic and professional... anyway, as a Web designer, I have made those kind of site 5 years ago when I was learning so keep working.. you will get good result i'm sure

Integra... which one you want? :D

Vric- Its in the mail :) I even paid more than I would for shipping so you didn't have to wait 6-8 weeks. Let me know when you get it!

Also, I'm not just selling, but I've just been very busy with school and other work so I haven't been able to model :( :(

Ryan - I apologize for partially hi jacking your thread.

I agree that this needs to come to an end. All this "my idea, not yours" is a buch of BS and needs to end NOW

Thanks guys for all of the suggestions. Its a personal website, so its my own creativity. I did it because its what i think looks good. I don't care what other people think.

Anyway, as for the model selling idea, i think i am going to forget about it. I don't think i'd be able to afford it for a long period of time. I'll be buying a car soon, and with the cost of that and insurance and the gas prices firing up because G.B. can't keep his mouth shut, i'm not going to have money to spend on a lot of kits. I may not even be able to get all of the money back. It was a good idea at the time, but now that i've read all of your advice, i've taken a new perspective about model selling. A. its not easy and B. you can't expect to make money right away. Thanks for everything once again. As for my website. It will stay as it looks :flipa:. Its my creation and personal expression!

I'm glad my words have helped you out. I'm even having some trouble selling the 25 kits I bought and I didn't even get them at a "great price." Also you have to think about packaging them which costs even more money. I know people some people who I have sold to, do not know the lengths I've had to go through and I few times I lost "cash" money and I know I've lost "time" money. I'm just glad I've helped a fellow modeller even if they don't appreciate the lengths that I've gone.

I'm glad that you like your website and I'm glad that your sticking with it because YOU like it. This will help you out later on especially once you mature(I'm not saying your not mature now, but we all know as you get older you get more mature) and people try to tell you to change.
