I feel that the PCM in my '98 GC if failing. I had it replaced 18 months ago and similar symptoms are showing up. I can get one from the salvage yard for a fraction of the new cost. My question is, can I just plug in and drive or will the unit need to be programmed at the dealer or by service personnel with special equipment?
Thanks for looking.

chances are you will be able to just plug it in and it will work fine, but in some cases this is illegal. you will need to have somethings reprogrammed, such as vin #, Odometer Reading (actual mileage), etc...
