no spark, will not start please help

ok, I have A 1994 bmw 325i, I checked for spark, none, changed crank sen. still nothing, while turning the motor over, the tach does not bump, I have gas but the gas gauge shows empty, this could be the gas sensor, fuel pump works, checked all relays and fuses, sprayed starting fluid, nothing, maybe dme, whats strange, is the dme has a date of 1995 on it. I know tht the prev. owner had the alarm system bybassed, and it ran after wards. please help, is there a way to check dme.

OK, sounds like you need to pull codes from the car. Insert key in switch. Turn to "ON" do not attempt to turn it to start. Depress the gas pedal to the floor 5 times rapidly (within 5 seconds of each other). The check engine light will begin to blink out the codes. The codes are in a 4 digit form that will begin with the digit 1. A no failure code will be a 1444 ( *-****-****-**** ) An ECU failure code is an 1211. The light will remain lit for 2.5 seconds for each flash. Count the codes numerous times to make sure you get them correct. The engine codes are all listed in the Chilton manuals.

tried the gas pedel thing, does not work, the chec engine light is the one that looks like a gear with a ! in the middle right.
