Gallardo news

from a good source i heard this:
"...will be a convertible Gallardo towards the end
of 2003, with a Gallardo race model (perhaps a GT)
soon after that, the factory will again start a
championship like with the Diablo GTR, but using
Gallardo derived models, not based on the Murcielago !

At the moment a 4x4 model is being finalized, based on
the Cayenne/Tuareg chassis."

odd that they want to use the gallardo instead of their flagship for all the racing stuff.

It is a lighter car, but im sure if they built the murci's chassis the same way as the gallardo's the murci would be alot lighter.

any other ideas?

It is odd that they are announcing all these Gallardo models when they only have one new Murcielago (the roadster). I also think the SUV looks a little too much like the Cayenne.

Yeah its great for them to make a convertible, and even the Gt model, but they shouldnt use it to gain lamborghini some fame and all... A murci Gt should do that!!! darn it, they just have to do more murci models!!

Thats awesome. I can't believe I just found this thread like a month and a half late:confused: Maybe they'll use a murci based engine in the gallardo race car. And i can't wait to see the 4x4.

I can wait to see the 4x4, Lamborghini is becoming something it wasn't and isn't supposed to be. :( VW is acquiring everything and may even soon have Ferrari.

Take a look at Seat, British designer did this!! And he never even needed to do a detailed drawing, he knew how it would look!! Quality job I would say.

Wow. That seat is amazing. It looks like a Bugatti or something... Is it just a concept?

The styling hints at how future models will look. As for will it go on sale well VW aren't sure as it will undercut the Lambo and their own sportscar out soon. I really do think they should though and so do many other people, as many people were willing to put down deposits for the wee beauty, also most of the press is crying out for it to be built too!! :flash:

4.2secs 0-60 and a 185mph top speed has been estimated.

As far as VW goes, I wish they would produce the W12. To me, it seems like a one-shot kind of thing. I don't see VW coming out with anything better than that in the future...
