Electrical problems; cruise, dash light, windshield wipers

Weird electrical problems with 2001 Passat;
When you depress the brake pedal the dash light goes on (if the headlights are off)
The Cruise doesn't work if the headlights are on but works when they are off
The windshield wipers spontaneously speed up and slow down
Has anyone experienced these types of problems all at the same time? I can't be the only fortunate one. Any help would be appreciated.

replace the ignition switch electrical portion, its pretty easy to do and there about 35.00 at the dealer
