make your own diagnostic tool for the computer?

hi i have seen how you make your own diagnostic reader for OBD2 and OBD1 for GMs but what is the equivalent to chrsyler? do they use OBD1 or is that the CAN i have seen words for too? as i wanna be able to read my transmission to see if the solinodes are working or if its plugged

as currently i can place it in L 3 or OD and they run in the same gear maybe 2nd gear or so


so i like a cable and whatever software to use with a laptop to monitor live streaming of the sensors

ah ok but nothing for OBD 1 live data streaming just for OBD 2 i guess GM only offers it

was hoping for like a dianostic machine that ican turn my computer into for any OBD 1
