2 kills in one night in my Merc

Well first I want to say that it has been a long long time since I have posted here. As a guess i would say a post last week and then about 2-3 years. So its good to be back. Well I was out tonight and not looking for a race. The first one was on the way to a drug store for some munchy food. Came to the light that was coming up on the drug store. There was an early 90's saturn (didnt pay attention to what model) and looking over i guessed that he was going to punch it. The intersection was at an angle so even stopped at the light my bumper was at the back of his front door. So the light goes green and he punches it with his rotted out exhaust blaring the whole way. MY front bumper was at his rear bumper when i started and I reeled him in and at 50 his bumper was at my rear doors, at which point i shut down so i could pull into the drug store without having to slam on my brakes.

Kill two came later in the night. I was out and came to a red light and a 3rd gen V6 eclipse came up next to me and i looked over and again thought that he would go for it. So the light goes green and he starts off slow and then at 10 mph and i hear him floor it. So I floor it too. We were dead even at the start but I start pulling slightly on him at 25 and by 35 he had fallen back to my rear door and I was pulling harder on him. At which point he shuts down and I do shortly after thinking boy that was a craptacular on his part to not even get up to the speed limit.

Anyway, my story of two kills tonight.

Edit: edited to state the eclipse was a V6. Forgot to put that in when i posted it this AM.

2005 Mercury Grand Marquis. 230 WHP 249 ft-lbs.

LOL.

I had an impromptu stoplight drag race with a Grand Marquis driven by a 60s something old woman in my GMC last month, lol.

I'm pretty sure hers didn't make 230 WHP though.

I guess he didn't read my sig. I'm sure it was far from 230 whp since these cars are only rated at 225 to up to 240 at the crank, with some stock cars being measured at 160 whp.

What do you have done to yours? Sleeper grandma cars = awesome.

Oh I wasn't meaning what I said in any kind of bad way. I was recognizing that yours had some pretty good modifications to be making at the wheels what those cars are rated stock for at the flywheel.

Oh man, long story. To make a four year (or so) story short, I was recently laid off from Chrysler (after 2.5 years), and it gives me something to do when I need a break from looking for jobs. The previous time was due to an ex gf that well didn't turn out so well. Its good to be back, and I'm glad to still see one person that was around then lol.

Actually very little work. So far it is a cat back, dual exhaust (h pipe at the time of the dyno measurement, currently x pipe that pulls stronger then the h did), March underdrive pulleys for the mustang and a 93 octane tune from a local tuner. Additional mods include a 3.55:1 RAR from a 2.73, and 245/50/16 tires instead of 225/60/16.

I've had a good return on investment since factory rating on my car was 225 at the crank. I do want more toys, but that will depend greatly on when i get a job again. I do know what I would like to do. I have always had a thing for sleeper cars.

Defiantly gets some looks. I have two more kills that I should write up from last year that would be worth it.

Grande Marqwis for the win...

I don't like Fords, but I love the Panther platform.
