1988 3.9L Not Starting

I've done the basics; plugs, cap and rotor, battery, added some new fuel to the tank.
The plug wires seem to be okay and relatively new, though I haven't tested to make sure they get spark since the battery recently died.
I know I'm getting fuel, but it appears I'm not getting any through the injectors, of course it's a fine mist and I might not be able to see any on my finger when I checked.
It cranks over, but that's about it. The truck hasn't run in about a year and a half due to a previous problem, the fuel inlet hose was leaking severely and I've just replaced that.
Not having the tools to take off the bed or a large jack, I had to leave the gas tank on the ground for the time being. Would this affect the fuel pump's ability to send enough pressure even though I'm getting fuel to the throttle body at the fuel inlet?
Completely confused about why it isn't starting.

Get a fuel pressure tester, and also try putting a SMALL amount of fuel in the TB and see if it starts,or wants to start. One more thing, do you hear the fuel pump whirring for a couple seconds when you turn the key on? That is not as good of a test as a pressure tester because the pump can still run but not actually pump.

Yeah, the pump does go off for a few seconds. I'll pick up a pressure tester hopefully soon here. And, since I don't have a Chilton's/Hayne's manual, mind doing me a favor if you've got one or can point me in the right direction for what the fuel pressure's supposed to be at?
