OMG! Scooter hell!!!!

Hey guys,

I'm in Bali at the moment for a well deserved holiday.

We had a 4hr stopover in Bali before flying over to Java.

While waiting we decided to get a taxi into a shopping area and OMFG!

there are scooters everywhere!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
yes Rich! I'm in hell!!!!

they ride theses little 125 or 150 Honda Shoguns, Viesta, SupraX and similar and there are thousands of them.

No traffic rules at all, and basically you put your car where there is a gap. there might be two marked lanes but there will be four cars and 6 scooters across. the scooters ride the wrong way too! most wear helmets and when it rains they throw a tarp over their heads. I saw a cop with his jacket on backwards so he didn't get wet. the cars don't abide by the lane markings and just push past within inches of the bikes. Buses just honk and go. if you need to turn just do it! no hesitation. I had to walk across the road and tried to use a pedestrian crossing. hold your breath and walk steadily, and they all go around you. a bike almost hit me but when he saw how big i was compared to his scooter, he had the look of a deer in the headlights.

another 10 days of psycho drivers. good thing we have a driver!!

I am so glad to hear the scooter dude missed you. If he'd of hit you, you'd probably still be beating on him (most likely WITH the scooter as the weapon).
