:runaround:i have full power but when i turn the key the dash lights blink and no start...i changed the ignition switch & battery...starts with a remote starter switch and chokes out after 5 sec. so i know its not the starter or coils...i think it might be the pass-key system but i cant get the theft light to come on, i don't want to cut wires and bypass it yet....any help would be greatly appreciated...

The security system would never let you start the car if something was wrong with it....Maybe it's fuel related....that's what it sounds like

Your Buick should have VATS which is the little pellet in the key. When trying to start it the security light must be flashing? VATS disables both the starter and the fuel that's why when you bypassed the ignition with the push button it started but then stalled. You need to check the VATS wires at the plug under the dash to see if they measure out the same resistance as the pellet in the key.

i checked the resistance and its the same as the key "when key is in ignition"...the security light never blinks...i tried to start with the wire disconnected so there was no key reading and still no blinking security light...i noticed that i have no reverse lights, not sure if that has anything to do with the neutral switch...

Well, it sounds like you have more than one thing going on here. If it was the safety nuetral switch when you jumped the starter it would have stayed running. I think you may have to check the BCM out because that is a common problem with these vehicles as well. The start then stall issue is directly due to a fuel issue and if you have concluded that you have proper fuel pressure and the pump is coming on when you turn the key on then I'd certanly be looking at the BCM

Ok so i brought it in to the shop and turns out that the BCM was fried...i had it replaced and the car runs fine...thanks for everyone's help..

Yep, just as I thought. Too bad my $5 fix couldn't fix it. Glad that you got it back on the rode though.
