Convertable moving question

I am moving and was thinking of getting a soft sided roof top carrier to put on my car for the move to hold so stuff. I have a 2007 hard top convertable and I am concerned about doing any damage to the roof mechanisims. Anyone ever do this this???

as long as you don't accidentally try to open the roof with it on there should be no damage to the roof mechanisms. Anyways 90% of the roof mechanisms are in the trunk so there should be little to be concerned with. I would just watch out how much you load into the carrier that's all.
