Stereo/Speaker problems

I have a Pioneer 3900 reciever hooked up to my bose sound system with the external amplifier in the trunk. Started the car up one time and now have no sound out of any of the speakers. I recently noticed condensation and wetness on the trunk carpet, where the amplifier is housed. Would the moisture in the trunk cause the amplifier to fail on me, or do you think there is a loose remote wire connection from the deck to the amp?? I installed the deck myself and have had no problems ever with the stereo. I hate to rip out the deck to not find a problem(can be a pain in the butt). Thanks for the input.

Yes water will cause the amp to fail if the water gets into the amp. Does the pioneer deck power up at all. If it does not you probably have a fuse blown. I would think that you would at least get sound on the front speakers. How did you wire up the deck. Did you buy the wire harness connector that goes to the connector on the pioneer deck to the old radio deck connector. If you did I would check your wire connections and make sure that it has been wired correctly.

The deck powers as normal and has all normal functions, just no sound. I do not believe water got directly into the amp, but I am sure the moisture from the trunk may have caused some damage if this is my problem. I used all the wiring harnesses necessary, including the adapter to connect the deck to the factory amplifier. Again, this was sudden and I have had no previous problems.
I have also read that Pioneer decks have a feature that shuts down audio output if one speaker is blown(which I doubt), shorted, or something of that nature. Would a reset of the deck possibly fix the problem??
Thanks

I know with newer Kenwood decks will display the word protect and there is no sound from the speakers, there is a reset button on the front display of the deck.. I would reset the Pioneer deck and see if that fixes your problem. It is possible that the Pioneer deck does not like the impedance of the amplifier for the rear speakers. What I would do is get out the DMM(digital multimeter) out and check the speaker wiring on the plus side of the speaker to ground. You should not get any resistance reading if you do you have a wiring problem. If you do not what I would do is to disconnect the rear speakers and see if the front speakers work with out causing the deck to go into protect mode.
