Hey folks, I have an 85 ranger 4x4 w/2.8 v6 w/ auto trans, I think its an A4ld,
anyway I just got it and fixed alot of stuff on it, when I took it for a test drive the torque converter seal "i think" blew out, it was pouring fluid out of the converter housing, however the fluid level did not go down, I did drive it home but it would "slip" when starting out from a red light or if I tried to accelerate to quickly.
question 1. could it just be a cloged filter?
question 2. I hate automatic transmissions and this is the first 4x4 I have ever worked on, Did they put or is there a manual transmission that I could put in instead of the auto.
Any info or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
also does anyone know if I could use a 2 wheel drive trans if I removed the tail housing
