Saturn Ion Quarter

Hey guys I had a question about the drivers side quarter panel on a friend's Saturn Ion. Right below the tail light there is a pretty large whole where part of the panel was punched out. I have not seen the actual car yet, just pictures. My questions were: What are these quarters made out of? I know Saturn has a bit of a different style on outer panels. Also how is it attatched? If it is a steel one I am assuming it is welded on there. But if it is something else, i don't know. I guess what I am wondering is if this piece is bolt on? I am trying to do this repair as cheap as possible and would love to avoid replacing the whole panel if possible. Thanks for your help!
