stocked GTP

hello automotive forums members, I have 1997 grand prix gtp, and I was trying to make a little faster.Right now it's just stocked. I know adding smaller pulleys would make it faster, but I want to know how much it would cost, and what else would make it faster. Any suggestions???

Modding these engines is fairly easy, but has to be done as a whole. If you're on a budget, first do the supporting mods which would include opening up the exhaust (u-bend delete, hi-flow catalytic converter). These won't gain you much by themselves, but are necessary to get the best bang for your buck later. Just adding a smaller S/C pulley will actually hurt performance without the supporting mods that include at minimum a recalibrated PCM, 180 degree t-stat, and one heat range colder plugs. A True CAI (not a cheapo Auto-Zone cone filter) can be added later, but I don't think they do much if anything to boost performance.
