PLEASE HELP cat converter

Ok so my cat is clogged on my 94 firebird 3.4. I am trying to remove it to replace and I cant get it off. Is the stock cat welded on or is mine just really rusted on there? My car is a sitting duck right now and I dont have the money to bring it to the shop.

Yeah, you have to cut it off. Sawzall should do the trick.

I actually did it two days ago.. I used a grinder and cut the clamp off then grinded down the pipe that slips over the y pipe. I was then able to use a flat head SD to peel the metal back and the cat just fell off. The new CATCO high flow cat went on in seconds.
