Buddy came up from Cali and brought his Z with him. We had a fun tinkering with the engines of our Z for about an hour then we lined them up. He creeped away in the 2 races we had. No surprise to me though. I knew my engine wasn't running strong, but he had also gutted his pre-cats the week prior.

I assume you mean Steve (charger3x)? Yeah, his gutted precats and your crap knock sensor didn't help you at all.
When you getting a new one?

precats strike me as a terrible thing to deal with...

Yeah, but once you're done gutting them you can end up with a tennis racket or a ukulele.

I was going to replace it last week but a company I was dealing with chaged me the amount of the new part for no reason. The should be refunding it to me soon, but I'm not looking foward to the 4 hour job to fix it. As far as the precats... they will be gone soon. I also have an ehaust leak in that area from my O2 sensor. So I have to pull them apart anyways for repair. I may just wait until I pull the engine out next summer though.

Just wear a face mask. You don't want to breath any of that shit in.
