There are stock 350s and then there are stock 350s...like a 78 pickup 350 and a c5 vette 350. Which is yours

Ok I did a really bad job explaining what happend. now I will atempt to fix it. After I got off work one night, I was at a stop sing and this guy I knew from work puled up beside me and wanted to race me. Since this guy had been talkin shit at work all night about my truck and how it looks I gave it a go. at 110 I start to pull away, so he gets behind me allmost on my bumper to catch up with me and he does untill he goes to pass me and gets caught in my draft and it was over. Later that week I find out that the guy has a edlebrock carb and intake .

My truck has a bone stock 350 truck block.

Ok.... You've got a Truck with a 350.... Whats the other guy in?... I'm assuming something with a V8 cause he's got a Edelbrock Carb/Intake...

You're almost there buddy... just a few more details! :)

MY truck is a 1978 chevy w/a bone stock 350 w/a finely tuned 4 barrel carb

The guy I raced had a 1980"s chevy w/a 350 v8 with edlebrock 4 barrel carb and intake I dont know if it was a truck or car block though

i'm pretty knowledgable in the ways of the Small Block Chevy...

But as far as I know there isn't a difference in a Car and Truck Block....

Do you mean like a 2-bolt or 4-bolt main?

truck blocks have diff heads and more torqe

Drfthis

I really dont know the diff between a 2 or 4 bolt other then one has more power I think

-The Stig-

... Not really... If you're thinking about the difference between a Truck's 350 and a car's 350... the reason for that is Trucks have less restrictive emissions. Thus they're allowed to make more power... and they usually have a more aggresive cam for Low end Torque... although the cam is pretty mild. (They've got less restrictive emissions cause they're considered Heavy Duty Vehicles)

For instance, my Truck an 86 K5 Blazer makes 165hp 275tq. Thats a crap load of torque over the Hp... It's stock as stock can be... but has a slight lope. Go cam!

I wish it had bigger heads, i could always swap them... but wont haha.

the difference between the two blocks is... well ones got extra bolts holding the crank in...

the reason... more stability for higher power motors, helps prevent crank walk with motors that regularly turn over 6000rpm or anything over 400hp.
