oil brand

they say switching to Mobil 1 oil could cause a leak if engine is old or has been using crappy oil


can anyone confirm that?

car has been using local brand oil (Auto Pride).. for last 4 yrs.. it has 88K miles on it.. wondering if i should switch to Mobil 1 for increased performance.... or should i stick with the local brand in fear of leakage

I'm a member of Nissanforums(SuperSentra4203) that is the first time I saw the thread. It is very possible, becuase different oils act upon the seals of a motor differently. Mobil 1 is not exactly designed for high milage engines. In my B12, I ran Valvoline for high milage engines. I would use that, it works really good.

hey i bought castrol GTX.. gonna do the oil change tonite

lets see how that goes... i was told that it would be a good oil for my car
