Trying To Find Electrical Gremlin With Wipers

I'm in search of some info on how to repair my 1994 K1500. A few weeks ago my winshield wipers stopped working intermit. I did the infamous tap on the control module under the hood but that didn't seem to make much difference. I checked the connector to the module and it looked fine. Since I've seen the modules faulty so many times before, and my truck has almost 200,000 miles I opted for the complete wiper motor with new module. Installed it and still wipers are acting up. If I turn the key on and turn the wipers on, I can hear a buzzing noise coming from the wiper module under the hood at the firewall.... Strange.... If I start the vehicle and bring the rpm's up the wipers will begin to work but are very sporatic. I've also noticed that the red park brake light in the instrument cluster comes on when I cycle the wipers. And it also comes on when I step on the brakes. There is plenty of brake fluid in the master cylinder and the brake system works fine. I've also noticed my truck doesn't run as smooth as it used to. When going down the road at a cruise speed it acts like I'm cutting power the the engine as it seems to bog down/buck a little. The truck has a new distributor, cap, rotor, plugs and wires. All replaced due to the high mileage and winter coming up. I've checked the battery cables for corrosion and didn't see any, also made sure they are tight.
Has anyone out there run into this sort of problem. I'm beginning to think there are electrical gremlins that are mad at me for putting on new parts as preventive maintenance.

Wipers can be usually be fixed with a new pulse board.

Give it a good basic tune up and check the electrical wiring and battery and cabels and charging system.

Try this and this takes you 5 seconds,put a ground wire on the wiper motor and this is the true fix I have seen work so far.Cut about 5 to 6 inches of wire and put two wire ends on.Put one end on the wiper motor and the eother end on the firewall secured with a self tapping screw.GM never thought of this and my father does this all the time.

my problem on 1994 s1o was the wiper motor frame needed a ground wire connected to the engine block....

normally this is gonna be bad grounds or ground straps that are corroded to copper dust...

Thanks! Sounds like a great idea. My wipers won't work when first turned on, but after 10-20 minutes they suddenly start working and generally continue to work while driving. The scenario starts over again if it sits several hours. Never a problem with signals or cruise operation, just wipers. I'll let you know.

Apparently so! All I need now are new blades and I'm good to go.

I had also found , the ground strap turn to dust on the fuel tank fill pipe...that could be very dangerous..
