front door short

:confused: My power door locks and power mirror don’t work and door ajar light stays on. There appears to be a short in the harness, as I have been able to wiggle the harness between the door and the body while holding the mirror button down and get the mirror to move intermittingly. My question is, has anyone had this problem before and is there a procedure for pulling the harness out. Also can I order the harness from the dealer or just repair the one I have? If so is there a part number? Thanks Ron

Actually, you have an open rather than a short. Sorry, that's the electrical engineer in me.

This is a pretty common issue, in fact, someone just addressed this very thing yesterday in the Mountaineer forum (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=927123). If you (or a good friend of yours) is handy with a soldering iron, you can fix this this yourself.
