We've all probably expierinced it, some stronger than others, but what causes this so called "deja-vu"?
I mention in another thread that I think it's your soul remembering something from a past life and this might be true.
All teh deja-vu''s I have feel like they aare from a dream.

Is it normal to have the same dream for 5 days in a row??? Opinions?

but i would love to know what causes it
and about the dream thing i never heard about it happenin that many times in a row but i have had the same dream like 2-3 times in a row then it comes back into rotations in the next couple months almost like tv repeats

I hate the dream where you are falling and you cant stop yourself. Ive heard that if you actually hit, it can cause you to have a heart attack in your sleep. Im not sure of the validity of this however.

I had one of those falling dreams, but there was a ground... I was looking at the ground as I was falling in my dream, and at the same time, I was sliding off of my bed, the same exact time I hit the ground in my dream, I fell off the bed n reality, I've never been so scared in my lifetime, you guys would'n belive it, from that moment on, I had a different view of life because I felt I was lucky to be alive, even though I just fell out of my bed :D

About the.. having a heart attack because of you dream thing.. it's really sad and I hope no-one goes through that.

So true. I have had this feeling a few times. I don't like it. And also sometimes I know what would happen if I did/said something in a certain situation, so I don't say it. Like a 6th sense. Hrmmm...X-Files shit.

I sort of believe that deja-vu is not a past life but your life lived over again. I believe you live you life more than once. Any mistakes or heavy burdens or what you preceve to be wrong in your live will be given another chance to fix in your next life resurection.
I have had deja-vu's where I remmember the out come of an event before it happens and I can respond to the event differently than before. Weird as it sounds I had it work out for the best. I even have had double or triple deja-vu's at once where there are many out comes to the problem.
Oh an as far as dreams go-5 days in a row, there must be something on your mind that needs to be resolved in the real world that is troubling you.
I also have had dreams that last for days on end, but for the most part I don't dream every night I have about 30-40 different dreams that recycle themselfs every so offten and I have these same dreams year after year with new ones added so offten that gets put into rotation. I have these dreams usually once every 3 months, between these times I rarely dream....

Ok my problems are weirder than yours! LOL :alien2:

well they did a study on Deja Vu i forgot where i read it but doctors say its because you actually see it befor the information reaches your brain therefore you think its happoned again. kinda like a slip in your stran of thought, usely when your tired, or not fully aware, or stuff on our mind.

OR they just changed something in the MATRIX!!!

:D :D :sun: :flash:

Deha-vu...I see it as predictions. They are dreams that seem so real to you, then later in life, maybe awhile later it happens. That's how I see it since that's what normally happens to me when I experience deja-vu.

The whole reoccuring dreams...never had it. Heck, if a dream stops somewhere the night before, it never contiues. I've never had the same dream twice or any similar. Always totally different. It's quite weird.

Time.com: Been There, Done That (http://www.time.com/time/magazine/1997/int/970505/science.ben_there_don.html)

Sums it up nicely... Those are all the theories I'd heard of. IMO, the "glitch" between perception and cognition seems the most likely reason.

Its happened to me a few times in my life. This sounds stupid, but I remember the first time it ever happened. It was with the teenage mutant ninja turtles(true story). When I was about 4 or 5, I swear I somehow dreamed about the part when either Raphael or machalangelo put his head in the fish tank and spit out water. The strange shit is the Ninga Turtles never existed back then. And of course it was a dream, and I was so young so I forgot about it. But when the movie came out and I seen this one scene in the movie. Its like I had seen it before somewhere and it wasn't in the previews, it was like years before. I know that sounded stupid but oh well, its a true story.:) Its happened with real events that happened in my life as well and it trips me out every time it happens.

My wife has repeated dreams. I tell her that her head is skipping back a track. I haven't experienced deja-vu. As one comedian (George Carlin I think) said - I've experience Vu-Jadey which is that nothing like this has happened before and won't happen again.

I'v had deja-vu lots of times,i just cant remember any perticular instances.

as for dreams, i have had dreams that repeat themself, except usually somewhere in the dream i releize i've already had this dream and decide to go do something else (like try to fly)

i always seem to have this dream where im on the top of a building, and as much as i try, i just can not bring myself to look over the edge. i end up lying on my back on the roof of the building with a sensation that i am slowly sinking into the roof.

the strange thing is, in real life i have no fear of heights.

I think Deja vou is from your dreams. I think that we may see the future in our dreams. If not, then why do we think "I've seen this before". In some strange way, i feel we can see the future. I once was watching an episod of Unsolved Mysteries, and this guy had a dream that him and a friend were driving and an oncoming car with a trailer came at them and the trailer came unhitched and almost hit them. The next day the guy experienced the exact same event in the exact same place with the exact same friend. You know how we don't remember all of the dreams we have? Welll maybe somehow he remembered his "deja vou" dream. Does that make sense?

Deja-vu is a pretty freaky thing. I've experienced deja-vu when i was drunk once, that was a really odd feeling.

My dad had an experience with ESP kinda like that. He just knew that something was wrong, and screamed at his dad to pull the car over. Sure enough, as soon as his car came to a stop, another vehicle from the other direction came barrelling around the bend on the wrong side of the road. No dream, just knew.

Deja vu. I had a dream once where I was in this house, but the second time I "went" there it was under different circumstances, but it was identical. I've never been in this house before to my concious knowledge. It just happened. I haven't really developed any sort of theory to form where Deja vu comes from, mostly because it occurs in so many different cases.

I was pondering this even more and i just remembered another odd experience that occured to me and my friend. A few months ago, during the snowboarding season, a bunch of my friends and i were in the terrain park. I was taking a break with some of my friends and i figured i'd go get my board and do some more riding. As i went to get my board, my friend was coming down the hill to hit a jump. Me, a 16 year old, 5' 4" person, was hit by a 5' 8" 140 lb. person, going full speed. As I flew through the air from the blow, I sorta remembered that i saw this in a dream. When i got up, i looked at my friend and he was knocked out. When he got up, and after the ski patrol inspected him and all that junk, I told him about how i felt...about how i saw this in a dream. He replied "i felt the same way". He said that the exact same incident happened in his memory. As odd as this may sound, it happened. Could it be that there may be some strange connection of us through our dreams? I don't know.

i think when we are sleeping that another part of our brain works and when we half sleep or wake up another part is at work(like your sub conscious and conscious).they say you dream most of you dreams five minutes before you wake up any way when they over lap they kinda are part of each other so we use more of our brain and come up with conclusions. then they happen and sence we dont remember half of our dreams then we dont remember that exact dream. my opinion on deja f- you. :sunglasse

I think the falling when your dreaming is like what some one said before, it like you 2nd time at this point in life, but you dont know and neither does anyone else. I dont like that feeling though its kinda freaky, cuz 1 tymw i went to sleep in my bed, but the i had the falling feeling, and i wke up i was in my bro's bed in the room next to mine, (my bro was gone), it was weird, and i dont sleep walk either.

Man that is REALLY freaky. Can't say i've ever experienced something like that. I see people in my room at night. Its my dreams though. I always remember it, but its like I don't. Its really weird. My parents always tell me that I say something along the lines of "get the fuck out of here yaddy yaddy yadda...." I think I have a sleep disorder though.

Imagine if you woke up in your bro's bed and he was sleeping in it . J/k.

Sumtimez in my deja vu's i think to myself "its impossible that his happend before"

Like, one time i had a friend come over to play wit his PS at my house. During game play, i thought "wait, this EXACT same thing happend before" but then i realize...this was the first time he had ever been to my house....

i dont remember if i had any deja vu's, but itll come in time.

but i sure have had really odd dreams myself tho. when i was younger, i had a dream of this valley with a wide dirt road leading to a few houses on the side of it and a real big tree at the end of the track that was spreaded out over the houses, with a ladder on the trunk of it. i didnt really pay much attention to it at all, seeing as it was another one of those short meaningless dreams.. but 6 maybe 7 months later, i had another dream, and it was continuing of the previous one, but this time i was walking along the dirt road towards the tree, yet far away. and another few months i dreamt i was getting clsoer to the tree. it has been a long time since the last dream but only abuot 4 months ago i dreamt i was allready climbing the tree .. i was 12 when i strarted dreaming it and im 18 now and i thought it has stopped

hah yea, i dont like getting those dreams either of having no strength.. i remember i had a dream of this guy pointing a gun witha red shining rifle at me, and it was all in slow motion, i tried to scream as much as i could but nothing was coming out.

falling dreams are scary, i alwya swake up to either my arm swimging half way across the room or my leg swiming really hard form the fall

sometimes my deja-vu i so strong i can actually kno wut the person is gonna say next and say it b4 them...also, i once saw the same period of time more than once...like 5 or 6 times over a period of like a couple of years. the period of time was me getting a concussion and lying on the ground, semi-concious...n of course it happend...so i believe that deja-vu is a window into the future in a sense. n yea...it scares the shit outta me.

I find Deja Vu a very scary thing, I get it every now and again but since last week I've been getting it alot more, some seem like it's going on for quite awhile during somedays and it ends up getting on my nerves.

I usually get it when I see certain objects e.g. a door, shampoo bottle,Calander etc..
and when it happens it's like it's trying to tell me something, It seems like I've seen it before somewhere but Im sure I havent.
It's like your life's repeated or that we have millions of dimensions where we sometimes do the same things and they get mixed together.

And those falling dreams, I've only had them about 3 times and every time I get it Im dreaming that Im on one of those Porch swings that are out infront of some peoples houses and I end up dreaming that Im rocking Back & forth on it and then I fall of but before I hit the ground I wake with a jolt, but I dont change position or end up in someone else's bed though.

Im at the moment having a sence of Deja Vu that I've been on this site before and that I've Typed all this in and I havent!!!

Had deja-vu a few times. last time was when I was with rach, as I walked to her car I told her to wait, I wrote down EVERYTHING she would do, it was like this. She'll ask if we should take my car, she'll ask where to go then tell me not to worry, she'll say we should do a u-turn then will go straight anyways, and then turn left, then she'll look at ME funny. lol, and she did all of it. Its weird.

As for the falling, the scariest ones are when you wake up after the falling feeling and then the sheets hits you as though you really DID fall.

Scarier still dream wise is when I was dating Sera and she would call me and ask me why I had a certain dream. She ALWAYS knew what my dreams were the night before. Weird. (This isnt even when we were actually physically together.)
