Doesn't the real car come with plated bottoms? I remember building the tamiya nismo clarion gt-r with fairly detailed underchassis, only to be covered and hidden from plain site upon completion. :banghead:

anyone planning to order the Calsonic version expected to come out early '09??
wish one of them would hurry up and build an Evo X though.

I just got this kit in the mail today, very nice kit. And I have a question...is it safe to clear coat the chrome parts? I have never sprayed clear over chrome and I am not sure if some brands (Tamiya, Gunze or Zero Paints) will cause it to craze.

It will only soften the chrome effect, that's what it did on my alclad on the MP4/22

hmm...then perhaps I will use Future Floor Polish on the chrome parts then to seal in the decals.

Nope. However I also don't like the R35 or the Evo X at all.

Tamiya's race cars just keep getting more and more expensive. Cool kit but I'm not paying 40 dollars for it.

Gio that looks like a great livery. No company has aftermarket decals for the 35 yet? Im sure there will be some in the near future.
What about this one? Shunko? Anyone?

No engine, not enough brake detail, and simple interior for the price. Nice body though.

Since anyone complain the die cast underpanel, they done by plastic with a weight... with the same lack of details :D
BTW at last I feel interesting build some of those "stress breaking" models: all you must do is just do the body shell and add details inside... :D

I received my kit today.
No weight BTW in the undersurface panel.
Kits has simple details but I feel much better than the latest SC430 and 2003/2004 Zs or 2005Nsx: it has simplified push rod sunspension details but what impressed me more is the mold engineering/quality: body shell is by far the best I seen, I must say superb. Chromed surfaces quality is superb to me: thin, smooth, shine, just great.
Studying the kit to decide if to do the Yellow Hat Hasemi one or the awesome Xanavi I discover that they done twice a couple things that will help who want to do a 2008 version:
http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c159/gionc/varie/hthasemi.jpg
the roof's snorkel (flat or intake) and front vents: twice or double (like 08 YH Hasemi): this mean to me that they plan to do other variants like the Woodone, Hoshino's Calsonic or the Yellow Hat Hasemi.....
Dunno know now how to do: may be better do it in the red/black Xanavi (or Autech Motul) and wait for more mummy Tamy news, I'm sure we'll have :D. At last they done the SC430 in several liveries, and the Yellow Hat one is not only cool: it also won the #7 Motegi round ;) :D

Here's mine.Just had a trouble with the decals on the roff (the chrome is kinda fragile, careful if you want to polish it. Cool kit otherwise but simple.... I added the detail parts made by tamiya but except the brakes and some attachs (that can be taken elsewhere) I'm disappointed.Even the harness isn't made of cloth but just some paper.... Still, nice car ;)

They done a superb job on molds: Calsonic version has "covers" on front fenders and vents on the fenders side to rend a great "mid season" R35, good also for Xanavi/Autec cars.
