my trans went bad a while back in my 1996 blazer. i do alot of towing and such, only reason why it went bad is because one of my lines blew and i tried making it to the store a couple miles up the road, yea the clutches didnt seem to like not having any fluid and the trans got fried, which that trans only had about 70k on it. so i have a few 4l80e trans to choose from and was wondering if one would go in with no problems? i heard they are a tough trans, and with some being available to me it wouldnt be a bad thing to put one in if it will work. I also do some off roading, nothing major but still id like to have a beefy trans that will hold up. the truck is in great shape otherwise and has a lot of new parts in it. any help would be great, thanks alot, Brian

Yup, they are tough alright. I had one in my new '02 1 ton Express 3500 stall, never a problem pullin' 3750 lbs of paper in back, to 195k.

Bolt pattern? I'm clueless there... Check http://www.advanceadapters.com/

It will not work. It won't bolt up, the electronics are different...look for a 4l60e, or rebuild what you have.
