Help!!

:banghead: Now, Im generally pretty mechanicly inclined, but I am having a problem with two of my vehicles that I cant figure out at all. First off, I recently had to replace the alternator in my 1997 Subaru outback legacy. Ever since I did this the only thing my car does is that the alarm goes off until the key is turned to the on position. when the key is turned to the start position, nothing happens at all. once the key is pulled out of the on position, the alarm starts to go off again. does anybody have a solution to this?

sorry, but i do not have any ideas for you other than to ensure the connection between your new alternator and the wiring harness is correct.
