hi my car stops running after a while of driveing it but i can start it back up but it dies if i put it in gear but you can start it back up agin if you leave it running for a few you can put it in drive and it wont die but later

It stalls when you come to a stop? If so you have a Stuck TCC solenoid. The best way to describe it is if your vehicle had a manual transmission it would be like trying to stop in gear without pushing in the clutch.

So you got 'engine no run-on', huh? Tell ya' what; that sentence of yours sure has good run-on... Periods, capital letters, and commas ARE allowed in this forum.
Do you have a check engine light?
Try this, to see if the lockup solenoid is the problem: just before you some to a complete stop - say about 10-12 mph, put the transmission into neutral.
Post back up how that goes.
