I have owned two LeSabre`s with the 3800 engine and have had no problems to speak of. I am looking into buying a 2004 Century, is the 3100 engine as dependable as the 3800? I have read reviews in different sites but wanted to as this question in AF as I put a lot of confidence in what members here have to say.

I have a 99 Century with 87000 and never had a problem with it. My girlfriend has a 2000 Lumina with over 180,000 and the only problem was a water pump at about 165,000. Her car still has the original plugs in it and still runs like a top.
I did talk to a man with a 2000 Century that had a leakey intake problem.
I also had another friend with an old Lumina with over 200,000 but she also had some intake problems.

My father had a Lumina with the 3.1 in it. The car had 271,000 miles on it when he totaled it! Car ran great the whole time with no major problems.
