i was replacing the stereo on my 94 Toyota Tercel and the new unit worked for a while then sound changed and finally i lost power to the head unit along with the clock. there were couple of unhooked wires at that time and i am guessing some kind of short circut. radio/clock fuse inside the dashboard looks fine. i plugged in the old stereo and still no power. any suggestion where the porblem could be.

Must be another blown fuse down the line, There should be 2 fuses for the power leads for the radio, one the the switched power lead and one for the memory lead. Visual inspections of fuses may not find a blown one, I have pulled fuses that looked good but were actually bad. I would pull the fuses and check with an ohm meter or continuity tester.
