blower motor

it looks like i need to change the blower motor i hear i may need to drop the motor a little bit or maybe pull the dog bone motor mounts and kinda winch the engine forward to make room,what about cuttin the top of the blower housing to lift it straight up then weld or screw some new metal back in its place?any thoughts?

On many models, the usual procedure is to cut the housing. Are there any marks on the housing indicating cut lines?

I drop the engine cradle about an inch - helps a lot- and use the cut-out if marked.
