I'm looking to buy either a 95 or 98 wrangler, both have the 2.5 in them, both manual.. the 95 has 75k on it, the 98 sl has 86k.. the 95 has a 3"lift already and the 98 is stock. I haven't looked at either yet, but wanted the pros opinions to arm myself for when i do go look.. Any ideas??

This is gonna have to be a personal choice, but here is my 2 cents:
The 95 is a YJ. Square headlights and leaf springs.
The 98 is a TJ. Round headlights and coil springs.
I've had both, a 91 YJ and a 98TJ.
On my first trail run, the sway bar was disconnected to get me over an obstacle and was never replaced (I eventually just removed the whole thing. You cannot do this with the TJ because the coils flex more than the leafs and without the sway bar, it feels funny going around corners. If you will be doing more wheelin;, then the TJ will give you more flex and articulation to get over stuff.
The TJ seems to have less room inside the tub as well as under the hood.
Looking back, I was more comfy in the YJ, but I was always jealous of the TJs on the trail because of how they perform.

Hope this helps.

Agreed. Also, the unmodified 98 might be more reliable.
