Does anyone know how much power the stock alarm draws when it's set and the car is sitting idle? My baby is just over 17k miles (so she sits...a lot...more than I'd like her to, but eh). I had been having battery problems on the stock battery for a while now because of that, and had to constantly recharge it before starting. It finally got to the point where it wouldn't even hold a charge, so I recently (about a month ago now) purchased an Optima Red Top. The first week or so it was fine, then after listening to music for about 10 minutes with the car off, I went to start it and it wouldn't turn. I waited about 2 minutes, then tried again it it fired up fine. Drove home, turned it off, then back on - again it was fine. I went to start it last night (about a week later), and completely dead.
I'm not getting a battery light during driving, so nothing is leading me to look at the altenator at this point. Any ideas?

check the positive lead coming off the battery that goes to the underhood fuse junction, make sure it's tight.

Update: My father-in-law and I did some testing this afternoon. It seems that there's a relay that kept drawing power. We traced it down and it appears to be the driver-side headlight motor. If it's staying active thinking the light is up when it's down and the car is off, it would draw sufficient amps to drain a battery pretty quick, yes? Anyone else have a similar problem?
