90 legacy dies while driving

i have a 90 legacy with a intermitent problem. will be driving along and car will just die. pop it in neutral and turn key and it will start right back up. sometimes it will do it 5 times a day sometimes it will go for a week with no problems. had it in to dealer several times to fix it and they say they can't get it to die for them. just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if so what what fixed it? I'm having the same problem with my 92 legacy sedan. I've changed the fuel and air filters and ignition module with no results. Anyone have any ideas? Seems to be worse when it's cold outside.

OK mine turned out to be the mass air flow sensor. I used the information on this page I found linked to from another thread to decipher the code. http://www.surrealmirage.com/subaru/engine.html Thanks for this information!! Was able to find a used one at a u-pull-it for 20 bucks.
