You mean people that buy horses and pay someone to take care of it while they ride it every once in a while? Or the people who are in it just to make money on them, that have no actual love for horses?

My sister took my best cutting horse, a 16 hand Appalosa, and showed up the snobs by winning the state open hunt and jump 4 years in a row. They never did accept her as one of them, but one offered me $5,000 for the horse. I think it was more to get rid of us then that he really wanted the horse.

With the price of hay about $200 a ton, I've noticed a lot of hobby horses up for sale lately.

Exactly what I am talking about. I had a 16.2 1/2 app that was a great all round horse. Won jack pots penning and gymkhana as a kid. Leased horses for lots of money bred to do what I did, but he always outperformed the previous year times. This was little training. He just knew what I wanted and gave more then I asked. Probably that once in a lifetime horse.

I have an entire 81 of those there horses under the hood of my civic... and still somehow i believe you'd beat me in a race on that there horsey of yours.

LOL, your right vinny. This is where I work part time, got to have two jobs these days. No Hondas in sight. Grazing rights In Owyhee and Idaho county, let the doggies loose in late spring, come out two or three days a week to provide water and do maintenace on my days off from my IT gig, then come back in fall for the roundup. Nearest dirt road, oh about 10 miles, nearest Honda, none in sight. Priceless.

Well there's two Evan's in two of the photos and me in one.I'm in the plaid shirt/jacket, and red/black/white saddle pad. There was a third evan there, and we did a three amigos run. Me being a wise ass they thought I was kidding, when I signed us up for the run.
