Fuel Pump

Hi I am replacing the fuel pump on my 2005 malibu.Doe's anyone know if the lock ring stops at the crimp/stop or should it actually pass the stop and lock in as it seems to not want to go any further and I am leary of too much pressur on the plastic tank

Hey Glen. Welcome to the boards there...

How come you're replacin' the pump? Static fuel pressure (with the motor off) too low? Or was it too low at idle with vacuum off of the FPR, or too low with the vacuum hose still ON the FPR? Maybe only when tested under full throttle was it low?
