It's the welknown Tamiya Vw Kharmann Ghia.

Insede the kit it's pretty nice

I'll use a sort of calafornian style on this car. I think these wheels are perfect for this style.

I don't know what color it will be.

Where did you get those wheels? I HAVE to have some!

Being a VW fan myself, I've built quite a few, and this one is by far my favorite.

Rims suit the car very well, I'll follow this carefully :)

They're from an american car. I do'nt know which one exactly but I'll find it out.

The tyres are from my partsbox.

After sanding the body and primer, I painted it with 4 layers of TS-43 Racing Green.

Yesterday I put the MOON equip decals on it and the wolfsburg logo (metal transfer)

This week I hope to finish the BMF on the body and clearcoat it.

Like the project, not the wheels.

Last days I worked on the bmf windowtrims. It's hard to do at this car, because the trims are very small and narrow.

Finally I finished it, and today I clearcoated it.

First 2 layers of Pearl Clear, and after that 2 layers normal Clear.

I also will use other rims. These Fuchs wheels looks much better I think. I also painted the spokes black.

http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/bmf_004_%28Medium%29.jpg

Today I also started on the engine. The transmission and cilinders are painted with a mix of silver and black. The other parts are just painted like the instruction says. No more detail or something just OOB.

Now it's time to modifie the chassis to fit the Porsche wheels.

Hey Ice!!!!

I must say I hate BMF jobs on window gaskets, I seen not so much done very well.

Well your is very nice indeed! (I'm wondering I didn't read your post... isn't this BMF? LOL)

BRAVO! Great shine too.

The paint looks very nice. Great shine you achieved.

Having done some BMF-window-trim jobs I can recommend redoing the areas that donīt look well (door area, f.ex.). Some spot repair works sometimes since the BMF lays down very nice. There will be no visible edge when you use a q-tip... Usually, it is worth the effort - as it always is with the little touch-ups.

The rest looks great. I really like your wheel choice!

Spotrepair will be done after polishing the body. On the pics it looks worser than in real life, but I planned to do some places again.

After a while I have a new update.

I had some problems with the interiorcolors. I re pianted it 3 times and now it's oke I think. I'm colorblind so it's difficult for me to make a nice combination. This time I asked my mother for a colorcombo.

First I painted the whole interior flat black. The middle of the seats and doorpanels are painted with a creme color from Humbrol.
The details on the doorpanels are painted with chromesilver.

I used some interiorflocking in almost the same color as the creme I used.
Behind the rearseats I used black interiorflocking.

The dash is painted in bodycolour (without pearl clear) and I painted the details in chrome silver.

http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/100_0701_%28Medium%29.jpg

I tryed to use the Porsche Fuchs wheels but they are to wide. If I want to fit them I have to cut in the enginebay to create some space, and that's something I don't want to do. Other option is to make the wheels smaller and use smaller tyres, but I don't have smaller tyres for these wheels.....

So I decided to use the first style I wanted. A bit of calafornian look. So I picked up the chrome wheels again. The are much smaller so it's not a hard job to put them on this chassis.

The Porsche wheels also have a new destination. A VW T3 Transporter will have them :D

SO new update :)

I finished some left over parts and added it to the car.

I also lowered the suspension a lot :) In the back the wheels have much camber, just like 1:1 aircooled vw's :)

First the engine, which is finished now:

http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/af_003_%28Medium%29~1.jpg

With some american licensplatedecals and PE frames I made two new licenseplates.

http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/af_005_%28Medium%29~2.jpg

The chassis was wheaterd after I replaced the original exhausttips for alaminium tips.

http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/af_007_%28Medium%29~0.jpg

And now it's finished :D
