muffler is shot on above, has anyone done this. I started spraying the bolts with PB Blaster, truck has 135k on it. Doesn't look like the truck needs to be raised.

Any advice, experience doing this would be appreciated.

Thanks

I hope the PB Blaster works for ya, but I wouldn't spend much time on them if they don't break free. Replacement bolts are readily available and cheap, and it is much less of a hassle to cut them off...if you have something to cut them off with!

Yep have a recip saw and grinder, but seems may be tough to get them in there. Think they can fit? I'll try this weekend

I ground mine off - after 100k miles of VT winters/corrosion I had no choice. Not worth the headache otherwise...

Yeah I have rust also, Have to see if I can get the saw/grinder to the right place, to cut the buggers off. seems like the best plan. Don;t know why why I didn't think of it first

Yours have bolts? On 2nd gens its all studs attached to the flanges. So if you cut them you have no way of putting it back together.

Let me know how your's works out, NJ, and what all you end up having to do.

My '97 muffler's nearing the point of having seen better days, in fact, I have holes starting, this was last winter, so I'm sure this winter is definitely going to finish it.
