hi i had another forum for the transmission but i just got it on ramps and looking and i see 2 sensors and one of them has oil off of it so i thinking its the sensor that causes the car not to drive always its the one thats on an angle closest to the drivers tire. Not the one facing straight to the road.

so would that be the sensor causing forward motion shifting problems?

If your tranny has the same configuration as a 3rd generation (1996 to 2000)4 speed transaxle, it sounds like you're describing the neutral park safety switch. It sits at an angle pointing towards the battery. It limits starting to only when in park or neutral. Turns on the backup lights too.

oh? well i know its a 4 speed transmission and it every so often just forward gear is slipping not reverse

the other sensor then thats facing towards the road what does that one do?

so the angle one is only for starting the car?

ok that helps kinda i see the 2nd sensor for the place of the shifter, so really then doesnt matter if it leaks since its only for netural

now i see there is the solenoid assembly would that be the problem? i heard from someone elseo n this site that computer might be bad it does that but i havent read anywhere that computer is faulty possibly

so i not sure
