Rocker arm installation?

Anyone have these modified rocker arms (http://www.zzperformance.com/grand_prix/products1.php?id=426&catid=104) from ZZP?

Anyone know of any good articles on installation or can give any advice?

Nope, never tried them, but I was looking at them myself.

I wonder how they would work with custom PCMs and shift points at 6000 rpms. Valve Float?

I also emailed ZZP who said they do have 1.8 and 1.84 ratio rockers for 399.99. I asked why so expensive compared to the 1.9's and they said its because these 1.84's are new and not remachined. They also include pushrods.

I wonder how they would work with custom PCMs and shift points at 6000 rpms. Valve Float? Higher ratio rocker arms will have no effect on valve float; that is determined by the spring’s ability to keep the valve on the seat during high rpm operation. Anything above 5800-6000 rpm and the stock springs are borderline; especially with age. If you are considering doing a rocker upgrade and plan on shifts @ 6200, you might as well install a set of Comp Cams 105 springs, retainers, push rods and new valve seals while doing the job. Personally, I would much prefer the CC Pro Magnum (http://www.zzperformance.com/grand_prix/products1.php?id=129&catid=104)shaft mount rockers, to a set of “reworked” stock rockers! In addition, this would eliminate the stock rocker pedestal. BTW, I use CC Pro-Magnum rockers on both of my Z-28’s; one of them shifting above 6800 rpm, and have never had a problem! Of course, I have the other valve train components to support the rpm. :grinyes: Some good tech info below:
