Hello again ! 02 Envoy 63,000+ miles Service Eng. light came on 2 weeks ago, car runs fine. Been busy finally made an appt. with shop for this wed. Went out started car to go to work and no more light. I swear it overheard me on the phone. Will a code still be stored? Does the light go out after a certain number of starts? Or did it just have the flu that ran its course in 7-10 days? Any speculation appreciated. Thanks, Kris

PS FYI Recieved a letter from GMC today concerning the 02 Envoy, it states "the fuel tank modular reservoir assembly which contains the fuel pump, may develop corrosion of the fuel feed/return pipes after an extended period of time" This will lead to fuel leaks. Gmc states they will repair at no cost for 10 years or 120,000 miles from in service date. This pertains to vehicles in corrsion states of which Wisconsin is one of.
21 states are listed in the letter, of course these are the states where road salt is used extensively in the winter. I thought 02 Envoy owners would like to know this.

2 scenarios here, the cause of the code is gone, or it is possibly in history, a simple scan with a generic scanner may not show a history code.

Thank You for your reply, I will bring this up to the Tech on Wednesday and will let you know what comes up if anything. I'm also going to show him the letter from GMC and ask him to inspect the parts in question. This shop does my regular service and maybe they can advise when to go to the dealer for this issue.

Your best bet would be to take it straight to the dealer and get all your concerns taken care of at once.
The dealer can diagnose the code and perform the necessary repairs based on the notice you recieved.
