It's time for us (Maxima owners) to celebrate, here it is:

11.912et @ 117.39mph - 1.829-60'

I basically had the same set up as my 12.2 run last week. But I took off my Adco RSB, FSTB, front and rear bumper reinforcements and the slicks now have rim srews and tubes. I think the tubes and screws really help the slicks because I got my best 60' of 1.778 at 13.5psi, I tried lower, down to 11pisi but that gave only 1.8xx.

Thats it for me for race trim, I will probably go back to the track with street trim a few times just to see what she will do in the real world with out slicks etc. Now to focus on the motor project.

Thanks to all those who helped me along the way, Phil, Steve(Chicago), Jime, John at J&S, even Don. Thanks to my moral support crew, Del, Brett, Jason. And a special shout out to my wife Anne!!! Dam I got it good, a wife who puts up with this insanity. And last but not least thank you Jesus!

Wooohooooo FASTEST MAXIMA IN THE USA!!!

Fastest VQ in the USA?

are u sure thats the fastest maxima in the us? That's kinda dissapointing (not that ur time is at all dissapointing, thats amazing, its just kinda dissapointing that there aren't any maximas in the 10's) ... hell, I've seen timeslips of civics and integras in the 10's, and a full interior 944 turbo run an 11.1.

Keep in mind it's a 3000lb plus Family Sedan and also he was granny shifting and not really running it all out so 10's are a matter of maxing out the trannies full capabilities.

Stand by for 10's in the near future.

Remember also that civics and integras weigh a lot less than a Maxima also there is a lot larger aftermarket support for those cars than ours and they've been doing it a lot longer as well.

Don't be too disappointed this was only a couple of test runs and eventually you'll see Maximas doing 10's in a little bit.

who cares if he was only running 11's, what does it matter anyways? fwd cars aren't gonna be pushed much faster than that, and i wouldn't want to drive one even if they could. that torque steer would suck. and plus, how are you supposed to get a good launch with 400hp on a front driver...that's why all the fastest cars are rwd. it's a front wheel drive sedan, be happy that someone was able to get 11's:flipa: :finger:

I saw it on Maxima.org. That is just sick. He said he was granny-shifting and had an almost full interior.

I was wondering the same thing, that is an awful lot of power going through the front wheels but I'm proud of him and 10's aren't too far behind, so I guess we'll never see thrash turboing his car and running 10's unless he's in a G35 with TT's or something else.:D :D

Fear the almighty Nissan Maxima!:sun:

Let me point out that this isn't my car or neither do I take credit for the runs, I want everyone to understand this right up front, so this way no one goes around saying that it was me that did this or that.

The congrats goes to another fella on the .org, I won't mention his name because I'm not certain he'd want that. Go over to www.maxima.org and do a search to see who it was that did this.

However it is something to be proud of.

Where do I purchase the addco sway bars and front strust bars. I noticed a lot of people using them for maximas. Are they the best for it or they just cheaper?

Granny shifting as in automatic? If its an automatic than thats pretty impressive.

No Grannyshifting as in a stick, in other words he babied the manual transmission on his launches, instead of revving up to 3k or so he probably launch at or around 1500k.

Don't assume that grannyshifting applies to an auto because they tend to shift slower due to their set-up and torque converter besides how are you going to do any grannyshifting in an Auto, it doesn't make sense when you really think about it.

That just might be the fastes VQ in the U.S unless someone with a 350Z or G35 has a powerful setup up or unless someone has a the VQ35TT that is out in Japan and can be imported here. Well I have to say that fast.

As far as I know it is the fastest in America, 10's are only a matter of him not grannyshifting.
