Squeaky Chassis

We have a 2002 Trailblazer, 105,000 miles that runs like a top. However, it squeaks horribly. In the old days I would have thought it needed a grease and lube job. My husband says cars today have an enclosed lubricating system that is not accessible. It sounds like the axles or joints moaning. Anything we can do to quiet it down?

Thanks!

Welcome to AF on your first post.
First thing you need to find what is squeaking.
There is a lot of moving parts under there.
Some sealed joints and some rubber bushings and still may still have a grease zert some place.

If you are going to DIY it.

Best way to find it is to get front wheels up on some safe blocks about a ft. high.

Then find some heavy set muscle bound person to bounce the front end up and down until it starts squeaking.
Then craw under there and look for and feel for and listen for what is squeaking.
Good Luck
Let us know what you find.

I have a 2002 EXT with about 115K miles. It has started to squeak too. I am thinking about changing the front shocks. If that doesn't do it, I guess I'm just going to coat everything with grease.

Welcome to AF, in the future start a new thread, thanks. BTW the shocks will not correct a front end squeak, keep looking.
