Fuel line

The fuel pressure line from the pump to filter needs to be changed on my '97 Cav. It has developed a slight leak. The local Chevy dealer says that all fuel lines are sold as a set for $250.
Could this line be replaced with injector hose and high pressure clamps?
A 3/8" hose will fit the pump nipple and filter fitting.
Could a line be removed from another pump and reinstalled on my pump?
Has anyone ever tried either of these two ideas?

Hey let me know if you figured this one out, this is exactly what I'm up against right now. Though I did a temporary fix just fixing it with fuel hose and clamps. Couldn't find those fuel lines anywhere, and was pretty sure the dealer would take an arm and a leg.

I ended up splitting the hose from the steel ends with an Exacto knife. Cleaned the fittings with a wire wheel and installed injection hose and injection clamps. Also changed the o-rings in all of the fittings.
That was about 8 months ago and not a drop has leaked since. Just make sure the hose does not get pinched between the tank and body when installing the tank, route and secure the hose away from the exhaust and any moving parts.
It should work fine.

Yeah I had to replace that line after that plastic coupler thing cracked and leaked fuel all over the place (see pics). I went to autozone, got a new filter, some hose and clamps, and patched it back together, seems to work great, but don't know how long it will hold up. Hard to explain what I did, will take pic when I get back....

In the future, I may have to change out some fuel lines. I was considering using Stainless steel tubing with compression fittings and compression unions. We have plenty at work. Then bend the tube with a tube bender as needed. The only thing would be to find the adapter fittings to connect up to whatever I need to cut off. I'm thinking of even using a different fuel filter. This one on the Cavalier is a pita to replace. Did it once. Anything I may be missing? The stainless tubing is rated at higher pressure than the pressure from the fuel pump.
