Removing Catalitic Convertor 02 Cavalier

Hi i have a 02 Cavalier 2.2L and i want to remove the Catalitic Convertor, I was wondering if i needed a down stream liar or what need to be done to remove it and what benifits it would give me or what negative affects it would produce???

bad idea their are no benifits just noise and check engine lights
