Check Engine vs Reflash

about a year ago I sent my ECU to Vishnu for reflash. Today my check engine was on when I started it. It has stayed on after a couple drives. I plan to take it to the dealer on Tues. I'm worried about the ECU being reset & losing the reprogramming. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks
