hi folks... i've looked through many of the the posts on the forum and i've not seen anything addressing the CV shafts... i my have over looked it and i do appoligize if so... the problem we are having is that we are replacing them and the new ones do not have the inner shaft/spline i suspect there is a way to take it off of the old one by opening the boot but unsure so any help would be greatly appreciated and we need it asap... ladies car is laid up... and she/we are in need of a quick fix :)

thanks all

no it is a typical cv shaft inner and outer joints but what is strange is the inner joint on the replacement shafts have no output shaft for lack of a better word…. that connects to the new ‘inner joint’ to the tranny… I don’t have pix just now… but the shafts came out of the tranny with no problem…. the c clip is in place on the stub shaft that is part of the inner shaft and you can see the seal runner where it rides in the tranny… I’m guessing that the ‘old boot’ has to come off and another c clip is behind and on the short shaft that has to release it so that it can be put on the new inner shaft… both new shafts came the same way… without the small splined shaft off of the inner boot/shaft…..

that is about the best I can explain it
