It wouldn't be necessary to buy new struts, it would on the other hand be recommended. Unless you like riding around in a car that rides like a covered wagon. If you go any lower than 2 inches your stock struts will crap on themselves. Then the only thing that will be left doing the work would basically be the springs. With the spring rate being so high on coilovers it would be a very ruff and bouncy ride. So in short I would vote you get new, aftermarket , struts. That's my 2 cents. Anyone else have an opinion.

I bought a set of KYB AGX adjustable shocks and I have Ground Control Coilovers. I think I will have to buy some new shocks because when I installed the coil over sleeve on the KYB shock I had to hit it with a hammer to knock it down on the shock. With that said I think I damaged the rod of the shock with the hammer banging accidentally against it. I've read that if you scratch or damage the rod, you can have leakage. If that is the case I will buy new shocks.

Do you know of any good shocks that can handle a 3" drop?
