1996 Century 3.1: Operating Temp

What's the normal operating temp of a 3.1L engine @ highway speeds? Will it show on dash temp gauge as 1/8 above C, 1/4 above C, or 1/2 mark above C.

Normal on the highway is about 1/4 up the guage, in traffic it could creep up to around 1/2.
