96 Eldo Shifting Problem

I just bought a 96 Eldo and it seems to be only going forward in 2nd gear?
Have checked fluids,SES light is on also Service emissions on EVIC Park, Reverse work fine & manually shifting does no diff ----also have ABS/Trac Cntrl Lights on and Engine idles @2000. I did find out that Intake is leaking(sprayed Starting Fluid) I am in the process of changing Gaskets Car has 120k Thank you for any assistance Caddy Tut

Welcome to AF. You need the codes that refer to whatever is happening, have them read and post back, no other way.
